WYOMING: 'Mustard Seed Mission' initiative launched at convention

[Diocese of Wyoming] Ministry in the Diocese of Wyoming will get a boost from the "Mustard Seed Mission," a project of the Episcopal Foundation of Wyoming, which will grant each congregation of the diocese $12,000 in seed money to stimulate local mission activities, delegates learned during the diocese's annual convention October 2 -- 5.

During the convention, Bishop Diocesan Bruce E. Caldwell also announced that he plans to retire. The diocese's standing committee has called for an election process for the ninth bishop, to be complete within 18 months.

The mission-centered theme of the convention was carried out by other speakers and activities, including a keynote address by Bishop Leo Frade of Southeast Florida. His wife, Diana Frade, also spoke on the subject of mission.

The Diocese of Wyoming was established in 1887 and currently consists of 48 congregations and more than 8,000 members.
