A slate of 4-6 nominees is due to be announced in December with a nomination-by-petition process set for January 2009. The election is scheduled for March 21, 2009 at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City.
The Diocese of Long Island comprises 52,700 parishioners worshipping in 156 congregations.
