The Diocese of Western Louisiana stretches from the Arkansas border in the north to the Gulf of Mexico in the south. Culturally the expanse is even greater. North Louisiana was settled by immigrants of English, Dutch and German descent, while South Louisiana is the center of the French-speaking, Cajun culture.

Bridging this ethnic diversity in the Diocese of Western Louisiana is a common devotion to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The singleness of spiritual focus of the people of Western Louisiana is expressed in the diocesan mission statement: “The Mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana is to lead, guide and assist local congregations in bringing Christ to people and people to Christ.”
