Document Description: This is a 20-Page report on factors related to the growth or decline of U.S. congregations. It is based on the 2005 Faith Communities Today Survey, and reports findings from a sample of over 800 congregations. This is an ecumenical study which includes Roman Catholics, Episcopal parishes, mainline and evangelical Protestant congregations, sectarian groups, and even a few synagogues. Using full color graphs, the study shows how growth is related to: 1) the location and demographic makeup of the congregation; 2) the congregation’s identity; 3) the congregation’s worship; and 4) the congregation’s activities and programs. Single printed copies of the report can be ordered for $8.50 (less for bulk copies) from Hartford Seminary: http://fact.hartsem.edu/products/index.html
